Yesterday I received notice that my new RED Scarlet film camera is allocated. That doesn't mean I will get it soon: it means that a certain production unit has my name on it. It stills needs to be build, tested, paid for, shipped, accessorized etc. before I can start filming with this beauty. As far as I know it will be one of the first units in the Netherlands.

The RED Scarlet is a digital cinema camera aimed at the professional filmmaker. It records in 4K resolution to RAW files. With an incredible high quality sensor this camera is able to produce stunning pictures.

I will keep you posted on the progress!

Enkele weken geleden heb ik een nieuwe film camera besteld: de Red Scarlet. Ik verwacht dat deze binnenkort geleverd gaat worden. De Red Scarlet is een gloednieuwe en uiterst innovatieve camera. Het gaat er hopelijk voor zorgen dat ik nog mooiere films kan gaan maken. Want dat is het doel!

Een nieuw jaar! Nieuwe plannen, nieuwe ideeën, mooie projecten. En om het voor mijn klanten extra aantrekkelijk te maken om video in te zetten als communicatiemiddel, zijn de productie prijzen voor het komende jaar gelijk gebleven. Geen prijsstijgingen dus! En dat is in deze economisch minder zekere tijd mooi meegenomen.

As a video maker, you use a lot of batteries. It is unavoidable with this job: many small electronic devices, camera's, receivers, recorders, transmitters etc. They all need a form of electric power (read batteries) to function.

To reduce the amount of batteries that are thrown away or need to be recycled, I changed to rechargeable. From now on all batteries and accus used are rechargeable and environmentally friendly.

Another year has gone by and it’s time for some prediction and speculation for 2012!
